Description
The Ottocast Mini Cube is a compact automotive adapter designed to convert factory-installed wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems into a wireless connection. This device eliminates the need to plug in a smartphone via cable every time you enter the vehicle, while maintaining full system functionality on the car's display.
Key Features and Functionality:
- Wireless Connectivity: Enables cable-free access to navigation apps (Google Maps, Waze, etc.), music playback, hands-free calling, and voice assistants directly through the vehicle's infotainment screen.
- Automatic Connection: After the initial pairing, the adapter remembers the device and automatically establishes a connection within approximately 5 seconds of starting the vehicle.
- Plug-and-Play Setup: No external apps or drivers are required on the smartphone. The adapter operates simply by plugging into the vehicle's existing USB data port.
- Ergonomic Design: Features a highly compact housing with a 90-degree angled USB connector design. This layout saves space in the center console and allows for a cleaner installation.
- Over-the-Air Updates (FOTA): Firmware updates, bug fixes, and stability improvements are performed wirelessly via the FOTA system.
Compatibility Requirements:
- Vehicle: The vehicle must be equipped with a factory-installed (OEM) wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto system and a functioning USB data transmission port.
- Smartphones: Recommended for use with devices running iOS 10 (or newer) and Android 11 (or newer) operating systems.
